2006 Oredigger Seniors

bartlett

#5 Koa Bartlett - WR
6’1” 196 Sr.
Santa Ana, CA

Green on Bartlett –“Koa is ready for a breakout season. He possesses good hands, size, speed and athletic ability. The 2005 season saw Koa come back to full speed after suffering a season ending leg injury in 2004. He is also a talented punt returner. I like the way that Koa looks up defensive players to block – he is physical. Our coaches have been pleased with the way Koa gets yards after the catch.”

kleckner

#12 Dan Kleckner - K
5’11” 195 Sr.
Mead, WA

Green on Kleckner – “Oredigger field goals, P.A.T.’s, and kickoffs will be coming off the talented right foot of Dan Kleckner again for the 2006 season. In 2005, Dan was good on 15 of 22 field goal attempts including a 55 yarder and a 44 yard game winner in a thrilling victory over Rocky Mountain College. Danny will also handle our punting chores this season. The ball comes off of Danny’s foot with serious velocity, plus he is cool under pressure – like a safecracker in a burning bank.”

clark

<

#13 Rory Clark - OLB
5’11” 219 Sr.
Geraldine, MT

Green on Clark – “Spring football saw Rory move to the SID linebacker position and he proved to be a great fit. The guy can run and he can hit. Our defensive staff likes the way he comes off the edge on Blitzes. Rory never stays blocked and he always shows up around the football when we watch video. In addition, Rory is one of the Orediggers’ most productive players on Special Teams."

tippett

#39 Craig Tippett – TE
6’1” 242 Sr.
Butte, MT

Green on Tippett – “A versatile athlete, Craig has played tight end, running back, and all special teams during his career here at Tech. Tipps is a very solid performer and a team leader. His touchdown catch in last year’s NAIA National Playoff Game against Azusa Pacific was huge. I really like the way Craig executes. The guy knows our system. Craig’s work in the weight room has proven to be a big factor in his success."

koskela

#42 Jared Koskela – ILB
6’1” 241 Sr.
Thompson Falls, MT

Green on Koskela – “Jared is a vital part of our defensive scheme. The guy is big and physical. He will hit you like a nine pound hammer. When I visualize what a Mike linebacker should look like and play like, Jared Koskela pops into my mind. After spring football, Jared was elected to one of our team co-captain positions. He leads by example, and inspires his fellow Orediggers with his dedication and hard work. The 2006 season will be a big one for Jared Koskela with his contribution as an exceptional player and team leader."

kansala

#45 Kent Kansala – TE
6’3” 247 Sr.
Sheridan, WY

Green on Kansala – “Hard work in the weight room, has made Kent Kansala a force at tight end for the Digger-“O”. On a down block, double, or zone/reach Kent blocks like the senior veteran which he has become. He is a knowledgeable performer who does not make assignment errors. This season, I want to see Kent Kansala make catches and turn up field with the football – putting some impacts on those D. Backs! Kent’s enthusiastic leadership adds energy and excitement to our offense."

jensen

#48 Jens Jensen – RB
5’10” 227 Sr.
Missoula, MT

Green on Jensen – “Jens is one of the hardest workers on the football team. His total dedication in the weight room has increased Jens’ athletic ability and made our team better. He is very strong. As a special teams’ performer, Jens has contributed extensively to some extremely successful Digger teams. I anticipate that he will see more time as a fullback this season. Jens really enjoys playing football. It is fun to be on the field with him.”

hensleigh

#60 Shane Hensleigh – DL
6’0” 295 Sr.
Colstrip, MT

Green on Hensleigh – “Anchoring the interior portion of the 2006 edition of the Digger “D”, will be big Shane. He is coming off a fine 2005 season in which 2nd Team All Conference recognition came his way. Shane has picked up right where he left off. Hard work in the weight room has given him truly outstanding strength and power. Plus, in spring football and pre-season Shane has been flying to the football. His leadership was recognized this spring when the Oredigger players elected him a co-captain.

cerwin

#65 Chad Erwin – OL
6’2” 267 Sr.
Butte, MT

Green on Erwin – “The 2005 season was a great one for Chad. His production was recognized by being a First Team All Frontier Conference
selection. Chad is a very athletic offensive lineman who can drive block, pull, and pass protect with equal efficiency. He had a tremendous summer training here in Butte. Chad is one of our co-captains whose performance will be a big key in 2006. I really like the way Chad blocks down field with all-out hustle and toughness.

langford

#66 Dustin Langford – OL
6’2” 266 Sr.
Boulder, MT

Green on Langford – “Dustin has been a very solid player for three years as a starter at center. When we moved him to guard late in the 2005 season, and for spring drills this year, he further distinguished himself. Our O. line will be outstanding this season and Dustin is a key part of it. He also snaps on punts and placements. Lang is a hard nosed player who has shown toughness in playing through injuries. He has a knack for providing the key block on big runs.”

hustad

#87 Art Hustad – DL
6’2” 230 Sr.
Helena, MT

Green on Hustad – “Artie can flat out rush the passer. He chases the quarterback like a black lab on a thrown stick. Art is also a great special teams player. His knack for blocking kicks has been a big part of the Diggers’ success. Coming into the 2006 season Art is bigger and stronger. He has an exceptional understanding of our defensive scheme and carries out assignments very well. His positive attitude, 100% effort, big time production, and love of the game make him a key member of the team.”

ccarter

#81 Chris Carter – TE
6’3” 240 Sr.
Shelby, MT

Green on Carter – “the 2006 season will be a big one for Chris. He will see action as both a tight end and defensive lineman. Chris has worked very hard in the weight room and overcome injuries in preparing for his senior season. During pre-season practices, Chris has made some big plays on defense. At 6’3” and 240+ he moves very well. Chris will also contribute heavily to the Diggers 2006 season as a productive performer on special teams.
