Tech signs Donahue
Oredigger Golf is proud to announce the signing of Anaconda High School’s Corey Donahue. Donahue finished ninth in this year’s Montana Class A Championship. He shot his career low of 66 at the Anaconda Country Club and plays to a two handicap. Donahue also placed second in the Montana Junior Championship at age 15. He says he is excited to join a team that is rising fast.
“Golf at Tech excites me because the current team is very competitive,” Donahue said. “I feel there is no limit to how good the program can become.”
Tech Athletic Director Joe McClafferty echoed Donahue’s enthusiasm.
“Corey is part of an exceptional recruiting class,” McClafferty said. “Our combination of veterans and talented freshmen should elevate us to a new level next season.”
Donahue currently lives with his grandfather, John Donahue, in Anaconda. He plans to major in Engineering at Montana Tech.
“I am attracted to Montana Tech because of its strong engineering program and the high placement rate of its graduates,” Donahue said. |

Tech Golf inks another
Montana Tech Golf is proud to announce the signing of Whitney Lamb. Lamb was MVP of Missoula Hellgate’s women’s team all four years of her high school career. She finished the 2007 season with a 10 handicap and won the Class AA Missoula Invite with an average score of 81. Lamb says she is looking forward competing at the college level.
“I’ve wanted to play college golf since I was young, and when I found out that Tech was interested in me I was very excited,” Lamb said.
Tech Athletic Director Joe McClafferty believes is a crucial addition to the Oredigger Team.
“Whitney will help us build a very competitive women’s team,” McClafferty said. “I can’t wait to see what we can do in our 2008 season.”
Lamb plans to study Applied Health Science at Tech with the ultimate goal of pursuing a career in Physical Therapy.
“I chose Tech because of the quality of their academics,” Lamb said. “I really liked the fact that they have great job placement rates.” |
